Center of Excellence:
Wired & Wireless Technologies

Accelerating market-ready solutions in next-gen communications & AI

The Center of Excellence - Wired & Wireless Technologies (CoE-WWT) is established through seed funding by Govt. of Karnataka to foster cutting-edge, market-ready solutions with the potential for societal scale impact.

Network technologies such as 5G play a critical role in the development of deep-tech and AI-based innovations, which require advanced communication technologies capable of faster, seamless exchanges of data. Recognising the need to nurture new use cases for such technologies, the Government of India announced a mandate to promote widespread commercial deployment of 5G through 100 labs across the country.

ARTPARK’s dynamic ecosystem in Karnataka enables us to connect and collaborate with leading academic researchers and students, startups, and industry players. Located at our state-of-the-art ARTgarage facility, the CoE-WWT offers a fruitful environment for innovation in next-gen communications and AI across sectors such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, Agriculture and Health.

5G Enabled Multi-Drones and UGVs

ARTPARK's multi-UAV and UGV platform demonstrates what becomes possible when autonomous aerial and ground vehicles operate within a robust 5G-connected network. The system enables real-time video streaming with simultaneous multi-application processing, delivering high-fidelity footage with seamless cloud integration — all while extending mission time without compromise. Critically, the platform supports Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) drone operations in complex urban environments, backed by reliable 5G connectivity that ensures real-time responsiveness even at the edges of coverage. Underpinning it all is a reference architecture for Drone Corridor Management and 5G network design — laying the foundation for scalable, safe, and intelligent drone operations in the real world.

Advanced 5G and AI Use Cases

  • XR-Assisted Facility Tour

A visitor wearing an XR headset walks through a facility. Cameras capture live video, streamed over 5G to a Mobile Edge Compute Server where AI algorithms detect objects, people, and locations in real time. Results are instantly overlaid on the headset as Augmented Reality — turning a facility walk into an intelligent, context-rich experience.

Built on low-latency 5G streaming, YOLO object detection, and Unity + OpenXR.

  • IoT Sensors Integration for Smart Agriculture

A network of sensors measuring light, temperature, humidity, water quality, and soil nutrients feeds data through an ESP32 board and Raspberry Pi, transmitted over 5G to a Mobile Edge Compute Server. Machine learning algorithms process the data in real time, generating recommendations on crops, fertilizers, and pesticides — visualised instantly on a live dashboard.

Bringing precision farming to life through 5G-connected IoT and edge AI.

5G Enabled Medical Emergency Care Ecosystem

In India, over 4 lakh cardiac arrests occur outside hospitals every year. Fewer than 10% receive timely CPR or defibrillation — and every minute of delay means a 10% drop in survival. LifeCircuit is built to change that.

When an SOS alert is triggered — via WhatsApp, a dedicated app, or a direct alert — LifeCircuit's platform activates a network of trained first responders in the vicinity, locates the nearest AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and coordinates ambulance and hospital alerts simultaneously. First responders are guided to the scene in real time, supported by video triage and AR-assisted CPR guidance, while hospitals are put on standby before the patient even arrives.

Built on AR/VR training, IoT vitals monitoring, geolocation, AI-driven response coordination, smart wearables, and 5G connectivity — LifeCircuit compresses the gap between a cardiac emergency and effective care to the smallest window possible.

Because in a cardiac arrest, every second is the difference.

InterSafe 5G for Enhanced Road Safety

Road accidents often come down to milliseconds and the difference between a warning and a tragedy is how fast information travels. InterSafe is ARTPARK's 5G-powered road safety system that puts real-time hazard detection and alerts directly in the hands of drivers and road users.

Roadside units equipped with video cameras, radar, and IoT sensors continuously monitor traffic conditions. AI algorithms analyse live video streams and sensor data to detect and classify hazards instantly. This intelligence is processed at the edge — with low latency - and transmitted over 5G through a cellular network, delivering hazard warnings to vehicles on major roads and personal alerts via smartphone, in real time.

The system operates on an Infrastructure-to-Network-to-Person (I2N2P) model — connecting roadside infrastructure to the cellular network to the individual road user, seamlessly and at speed.

Built on IoT sensors, AI-driven computer vision, Mobile Edge Computing, and 5G connectivity - InterSafe brings the infrastructure for safer roads closer to reality.
