CoE-WWT 5G Test Lab

State-of-the-art 5G Test Lab is a facility located within ARTgarage Bengaluru to test and demonstrate innovations. Industry partners make their technologies available through this facility.

The lab is accessible to the innovation community comprising Startups, Academia and Industry – currently at nominal cost.

Equipment Available

  • Integrated 5G NR Indoor / Outdoor RAN operating in n78 (3.3-3.8 GHz) band. Supports 4x4 SU MIMO and covers area of ~200 mts radius providing > 1Gbps throughput, supporting 128 active users. Multiple of these radios are deployed as part of Karnataka 5G Test Lab to create multi-cell and handover scenarios.

  • 5G directional (90, 120 degrees) sector antennas are used with Resonous RANs to ensure complete indoor and outdoor network coverage of the Private 5G Test Network.

  • Intel Xeon gold 6544Y 3.6GHz 16 core servers house the 5G Core (commercial and open source) and 5G CU+DU for the Karnataka 5G Test Lab.

  • Bharat 5G Lab comprises of Signaltron’s Sahyadri STGNB2215 Integrated 5G Base Station operating in FR1 n78 Band, providing coverage of 50 mts radius. Supports Data Rate (DL+UL) ≥ (200+12) Mbps and 30 active users. 

    Independent x86 servers host 5G core and Edge Compute (MEC)

  • Based on Qualcomm chipset, these modules support in 5G enabling of UEs – UGVs, drones, laptops and other devices.

Bharat 5G Use Case Lab

One of the 100 Bharat 5G Labs (DoT’s initiative) is located in our facility. This is a Private 5G Network with a wide range of computation support and accessories for building and testing 5G based use cases around camera and analytics, XR/VR, IoT devices and drone systems.


Karnataka 5G Test Lab

A parallel Private 5G Network consisting of combination of commercial and open source solutions on the 5G infrastructure side. This is ideal setup for researchers and innovators focusing on 5G technology at the infrastructure side.


Private 5G Coverage at ARTgarage

Coverage of the test Private 5G network extends to the whole of ARTgarage indoor and outdoor area and supports testing of mobility / handover scenarios.
