About the Role

As a Junior Engineer in Mechatronics, you will support the design, prototyping, and testing of next-generation medical instruments. You will work closely with Cardiac surgeons, Robotic engineers and Scientists, senior engineers, researchers, and clinicians to ensure that solutions are not only technically sound but also practical for real-world healthcare settings.

Your role will involve hands-on testing, documenting results, and iterating on designs under the guidance of experienced team members. By collaborating with clinicians, you will help translate clinical needs into engineering solutions that improve patient care. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow technical and professional skills in a fast-paced MedTech environment while contributing to meaningful innovations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the design and development of mechatronic subsystems for medical instruments.

  2. Conduct laboratory and bench testing of prototypes, collect data, and report results.

  3. Support integration of sensors, actuators, and control systems into functional prototypes.

  4. Work with CAD tools and basic prototyping techniques for iterative development.

  5. Document test procedures, outcomes, and feedback for continuous improvement.

  6. Collaborate with clinicians during trials and usability testing to gather insights.

  7. Learn and apply medical device safety and compliance considerations in daily work.

  8. Contribute as a pro-active team member in a multidisciplinary engineering and clinical environment.

Required Qualifications: 

  1. Master’s or PhD degree in Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.

  2. 0–4 years of experience (internships, academic projects, or early industry exposure) in medical devices, mechatronics, or instrumentation.

  3. Strong foundation in electromechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems.

  4. Exposure to CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent) and basic prototyping/testing methods.

  5. Familiarity with medical instrument design principles, safety standards, and usability considerations.

  6. Ability to design, execute, and document experimental testing of prototypes.

  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clinicians and researchers.

  8. Eagerness to learn in a multidisciplinary environment, combining engineering with medical and clinical perspectives.

Preferred Experience

  1. Prior exposure to medical instrumentation projects or regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, IEC 60601, etc.).

  2. Experience with programming for automation/testing (Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB).

  3. Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, or laboratory instrumentation.

  4. Comfort working in a team bridging engineers, clinicians, and researchers.
