Mechanical Engineer Intern

Location: Bangalore

Type: Full Time

Duration: 6 month Internship

Job Overview

ARTPARK is offering an exciting 6-month internship opportunity for a passionate and motivated Mechanical Engineering student to join our Bangalore-based team. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in CAD design, building test setups for sensor validation, and applying knowledge of electronics, microcontrollers, and kinematics. This internship will provide you with exposure to both mechanical and electronic engineering disciplines, as well as practical experience in sensor integration and test system design.

Key Responsibilities:

CAD Design & Drafting:
1. Assist in creating and modifying 3D models, assemblies, and 2D technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
2. Good with designs with creative thinking and casing ideas for PCB products that are provide protection & compliment hardware functionality.
3. Help prepare engineering documentation such as design specifications.

Test Setup Design for Sensor Validation:
1. Support the design, assembly, and testing of mechanical setups for validating sensors (e.g., pressure, load, rotations).
2. Assist in integrating sensors with mechanical systems and ensure proper sensor calibration for accurate data collection.

Manufacturing Support:
1. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are optimized for production and manufacturability.

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T):
1. Learn and apply basic principles of GD&T to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability of designs.
2. Help review and interpret engineering drawings and ensure compliance with GD&T standards.

Kinematics of Machines:
1. Gain exposure to kinematic analysis, and assist with applying principles of motion systems in mechanical design (e.g., linkages, cams, gears).
2. Work with senior engineers to simulate mechanical systems and evaluate their performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
1. Collaborate with electronics engineers & product managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systems.
2. Participate in team meetings, contributing feedback on design, testing, and integration processes.

Technical Skills:
1. Basic proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or similar).
2. Experience in 3D printing and understanding tolerance for difference materials is a plus.
3. Understanding of the integration of CAD designs into manufacturing processes.
4. Interest in kinematics and mechanical motion systems.
5. Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and engineering drawing standards is a plus.
