Full Stack Developer
Location: Bangalore (ARTPark, IISc Campus)
Background
ARTPARK is part of a nationwide Collaborative Environmental Surveillance project that aims to develop early detection and risk assessment mechanisms based on environmental surveillance of high-priority human and animal disease pathogens. This initiative, in partnership with premier research institutions such as the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) and the Pune Knowledge Cluster Foundation, leverages molecular detection, weather data, and disease modelling to enable proactive public health responses. As part of this effort, ARTPARK is building cutting-edge digital tools to support environmental surveillance and advanced data analysis. The project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful, real-world outcomes through close collaboration with leading research institutions across the country.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing web based applications, and a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including researchers, data scientists, and product managers.
Roles and Responsibilities
Build on the existing Codebase for the Web Platform and the Backend (Node, postgres, and similar stacks)
Work to build modules to enable different data flow for varied pathogen specifications
Ensure that the platform is secure, reproducible, and open-sourceable.
Work with team members to identify requirements, iterate on designs, and ensure smooth usability
Engage with team members and users for field testing and feedback
Requirements
3-5 years proven experience working with Nodejs and postgres
Experience handling large data systems
Experience working with genomic data is a plus
Experience working with Open Source Projects is a plus.
