Associate Product Manager

About the Role

ARTPARK is part of a nationwide Collaborative Environmental Surveillance project that aims to develop early detection and risk assessment mechanisms based on environmental surveillance of high-priority human and animal disease pathogens. This initiative, in partnership with premier research institutions such as the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) and the Pune Knowledge Cluster Foundation, leverages molecular detection, weather data, and disease modelling to enable proactive public health responses. As part of this effort, ARTPARK is building cutting-edge digital tools to support environmental surveillance and advanced data analysis. The project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful, real-world outcomes through close collaboration with leading research institutions across the country. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing data-intensive products and a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including researchers, data scientists, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define product vision, strategy, roadmap and success metrics for digital tools developed as part of the project.

  2. Lead the development of platforms and mobile apps for data collection, integration, and visualization.

  3. Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to establish a shared understanding of requirements and objectives.

  4. Conduct in-depth studies and research in relevant domains, to inform product decisions, identify stakeholder needs, and prioritize features.

  5. Translate research and field requirements into product specifications and user stories.

  6. Ensure data governance, quality controls, and compliance with relevant protocols

  7. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product milestones, create and monitor product performance and usability metrics and work with the team to optimise the product for the end users.

  8. Design the product for scalability and sustainability

  9. Building strong relationships with government agencies and other stakeholders in the animal and public health domain to understand their needs and incorporate them into the product strategy.

Skills & Competencies: 

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Associate Product Manager or a similar position preferred.

  2. Proven product management experience in startups/ building open-source/ public good products.

  3. Experience working with diverse teams, including user experience, engineering and working directly with customers.

  4. Experience with product and project management tools, maintaining and managing backlog and roadmap

  5. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Streamline data pipeline and remove blockers by working with customers and internal teams.

  6. Ability to drive product development from ideation to launch.

  7. Adaptability in a fast-paced research environment

  8. Experience working with government agencies or similar organizations in the public health domain will be a plus
