ARTPARK Internship Program in Robotics and Autonomous Systems
ARTPARK (AI & Robotics Technology Park @ IISc) invites highly motivated and talented undergraduates to apply for internships related to ongoing, cutting-edge innovation projects in AI and Robotics. For the inaugural round, the topic areas of interest and the corresponding background requirements are listed below. Other areas will be added in subsequent announcements.
Topic area of interest and required background
Software, simulations and networking for robots - Probability & statistics, linear algebra; C/C++, Python; Knowledge of device drivers and shell programming; Exposure to gaming engines a plus
Robot perception and autonomous navigation - Random processes, probability & statistics, and linear algebra; C++ and Python, AI (including deep nets)
Design and prototyping of robotic components (Mechatronics ) - Actuators (BLDC motors, etc.), motor drivers, knowledge of mechanical linkages and mechanisms, CAD design for rapid prototyping
Robot sensor and actuator systems - Analog circuit design, signal conditioning, data convertors, power electronics, embedded systems
Robot programming and control - Control systems; C/C++, Python, software version control management (Git), prior experience with ROS middleware , CMake style projects a plus
Privacy preserving and confidential computing - Programming in Java/NodeJs, Git, software testing frameworks, secure programming, and cryptography
Students pursuing B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech., degrees in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/Mechanical engineering/Aerospace engineering (or any closely related field) are eligible to apply. UG students need to have completed at least 5 semesters of their curriculum.
Duration and stipend
The internships are open throughout the year and the duration can be between three and six months. The internship can be renewed depending on project needs and the performance of the student. The monthly stipend for selected candidates will be Rs. 25,000.
Nature of work
Each selected student will contribute to ongoing research projects in the RAS space. The fellowship awardees will also assist in activities such as setting up experiments and building prototypes that may be used in teaching laboratories and other ARTPARK-sponsored events such as competitions. Since much of the work requires building and experimenting with hardware and software, the fellowship recipients will need to be physically present on IISc campus. The awardees are expected to make their own arrangements for accommodation.
Application Process (Submission of application is closed for the time being)
To be considered, upload your CV at https://forms.gle/22ZeCXh4UHCWWMce. The applications will be reviewed periodically. Candidates who pass the initial screening by the ARTPARK staff will be contacted for an online interview. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the interview.
For any queries related to the internship program, you may contact firstname.lastname@example.org
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to each student on successful completion of their internship. For this the student needs to submit a detailed internship report duly reviewed by his/her mentor.
