The Student Internship Program of ARTPARK (AI & Robotics Technology Park) @ IISc aims to engage highly motivated and talented undergraduate students in research, development, design, and implementation activities related to Robotics and Autonomous Systems. The interns will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing cutting-edge innovation projects and work with leading experts in the field of RAS.
The topics of interest to ARTPARK are broadly in the areas of software, simulations, networking for robots, design & prototyping of robotic components (mechatronics), robot sensor & actuator systems, robot programming and control, planning & learning, privacy-preserving & confidential computing, embedded systems, edge analytics & specialized AI hardware, autonomous vehicles (air, land, and water), sensing & perception based on lidar, vision, speech & language, AI & ML algorithms for robot perception and autonomous navigation, human-robot interaction, telerobotics, collaborative robotics, swarm robotics and soft robotics.
Eligibility criteria
Students pursuing B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech. degrees in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/Mechanical engineering/Aerospace engineering (or any closely related field) are eligible to apply. UG students must have completed at least 5 semesters of their curriculum and PG students must have completed at least one semester of their curriculum.
Duration and stipend
The internships are open throughout the year and the duration can be between two and six months. They can be renewed depending on project needs and the performance of the student. The monthly stipend for selected candidates will be Rs. 25,000.
Nature of work
Each selected student will contribute to ongoing research projects in the RAS space. Since much of the work requires building and experimenting with hardware and software, in most cases, the interns will need to be physically present at ARTPARK facilities. The interns are expected to make their own arrangements for accommodation.
